The only thing I've noticed is that way less files appear in Search, or else they take a lot of time to show up, but I still need to dig deep into the program itself because it still uses the Soulseek network, so should give back the same results. The program seems to be way lighter than QT. If you're posting about a problem with the client, please specify whether you're using SoulseekQt or Soulseek NS (no longer supported), the client build number (should appear at the top of the client application window), and what operating system you're on. I've been using Nicotine+ for two weeks and no crashes at all. Please keep chatter focused on technical discussion of the Soulseek client and software environment. And I usually have a bunch of stuff open when using Slsk and was just tired of that. Why did I change? I was having quite a few "Not responding" errors that would only get fixed if I liberated the RAM completely and waited for a while until the program got its stuff together. Weird because I did nothing to QT when it came to forwarding ports. Some users told me that's what I had to do. I used to have more than 4tb of music and films shared and I got the message from some users that I was not uploading anything despite already having set the folders. Just less intuituve than QT.Īlso apparently you have to forward some ports or set UPnP for your uploads to be shared correctly. I'm a noob to Nicotine+ and while it's hard getting used to the UI the first day, it's nothing crazy. Soulseek, with its built-in people matching system, is a great way to make new friends and expand your mind Whats New: Revert to Qt 5.7.
